As a self-proclaimed Jack of all Trades, I have never been so professionally driven as I am working as a property crew member.
My confidence as a stage hand is a direct result of working a wide array of jobs – starting as a teenager.
Jobs such as marketing executive, sales associate, event coordinator, store manager, florist, nurse assistant, laundry mat attendant, bartender, waitress, barista, produce/deli clerk, nanny, etc. Never had I imagined that these work opportunities would embed a range of skills that I apply daily as a prop assistant.
Because the craft requires a strong ability to adapt and focus simultaneously on multiple tasks while maintaining a high degree of initiative, I understand my experience gives me the leg up needed to go above and beyond the scope of the job requirements. Skills which include but not limited to: attention to detail, organization, inventory management, critical thinking, teamwork, creativity, time management, communication and coordination.
I work frequently in California and Atlanta; though I have also worked in New Mexico, New Orleans, Alabama and Greece. I am always open to travel.
As I continue to work in my craft, I am empowered to strengthen my abilities in fabrication, vinyl application, calligraphy, vintage electronics, aging/dying, sewing, and (my personal favorite) continuity!
The creative aspect of props along with its need for teamwork, autonomy and collaboration amongst other departments is career fulfilling in itself. Though, being able to see our hard work on the screen is a plus!
I would be honored to blend my genuine passions with yours – let’s connect!
