I have never been so professionally driven as I am working as a stage hand.
My confidence as a Property Assistant is a direct result of working a wide array of jobs – starting as a teenager.
Jobs such as store manager, florist, camp counselor, nurse assistant, laundry mat attendant, bartender, waitress, barista, deli clerk, and nanny just to name a few.
Attending Georgia State University is where I discovered my business mind. Though, it wasn’t until moving to New York, where I began to strengthen my business sense.
Durning my time in NYC, I managed small marketing teams to build sales and brand awareness in the Fragrance industry. Additionally, I lead PR events, brand launches, product education classes, private sales associate training classes (Macy’s & All Saints) as well as trade shows around the US and Europe.
After a 7-year long love of the New York hustle, it was time to chase another passion. Never did I imagined that these past opportunities would give me the confidence and abilities needed to be a successful Property Assistant.
Because the craft requires a strong ability to adapt and focus simultaneously on multiple tasks while maintaining a high degree of initiative, I understand my experience gives me the leg up needed to go above and beyond the scope of the job requirements. Skills such as attention to detail, organization, prioritization, inventory management, critical thinking, teamwork, creativity, time management, communication and coordination.
Presently, I work mostly in California and Atlanta; though I have also worked in New Mexico, New Orleans, Las Vegas, Alabama and Greece. Yes, I am always open to travel.
As I continue to work in my craft, I am empowered to strengthen my abilities in vinyl application, calligraphy, vintage electronics, aging/dying, sewing, and (my personal favorite) continuity.
The creative aspect of props along with its need for teamwork, autonomy and collaboration amongst other departments are career fulfilling enough. Though, being able to see our hard work on the screen is a plus!
I would be honored to blend my genuine passions with yours – let’s connect!
